The Installation Process
The SnapLock mounting system starts with a heavy gauge gutter truss that allows the new gutters to snap into a rail system (no nails) and the new gutters are free floating. Free floating gutters means No Buckling Gutters due to expansion or contraction during hot and cold weather changes. The use of the SnapLock truss solves the age old problem of weakening a brand new gutter by the use of a spike and feral or a hidden hanger screw so there are no holes. (There are an average of 50 -70 holes during non SnapLock gutter installation.) Only the SnapLock aluminum gutter truss is mounted directly to the fascia board. The next step is to install the gutter mounting clip. This clip is designed to hold the gutters away from the fascia board so any moisture that might get behind the gutter will have airflow that will dry the water and not rot the fascia boards.
The new gutter is then firmly snapped in position.
Are these extruded, rolled and formed aluminum components strong?
Product Testing Inc. performed an independent test of the SnapLock Gutter System® and found that the load capacity when using the SnapLock Gutter System® was 11.3 times or 1130% greater than that of 5″ gutters at full capacity and 7.6 times or 760% greater than that of 6″ gutters at full capacity. These tests prove that the SnapLock system will not only handle the weight of a gutter full of water, but it can also take on heavy gutter loads caused by ice and snow.
The next step is to add Leaf, Pine Needle and Debris protection to the gutter system. The LeafLock Gutter Protection System™ is mounted in a railed extruded groove on the SnapLock Gutter System®. This heavy gauge aluminum rolled gutter cover moves independently of the SnapLock Gutter System® on a separate extruded gutter mounting rail, therefore eliminating buckle due to expansion and/or contraction.
